A clear path from documents to decisions

Track buyer credentials and apply your own purchasing requirements.

Set up your first requirement

  1. Create a credential type. Name the document your business requires, such as a professional license or reseller certificate.
  2. Choose the products or collections. Select an item from your Shopify catalog and assign the required credential types.
  3. Add a buyer and their credentials. Match a Shopify customer, enter issue and expiry dates, and upload supporting documents.
  4. Review the evidence. Record your source, reason, and decision. Check the buyer’s eligibility result for each applicable rule.

Resolve a HOLD

HOLD means required credentials are missing, expired, rejected, or revoked. Open the buyer record, identify the reason, and request the missing or updated evidence. Review the new evidence before approving.

REVIEW means a decision or sufficient evidence is still needed. READY means the recorded credentials satisfy the configured rule at the time of evaluation.

Understand the limits

Your team is responsible for checking the issuing authority and deciding whether a document meets your requirements. The app does not establish legal or regulatory validity and does not automatically verify every license.

Eligibility status alone does not prove checkout enforcement. Verify the installed Shopify validation function and supported channel coverage before relying on purchase restrictions. Unsupported channels require your own order review.

Documents and renewals

Upload PDF, JPEG, or PNG documents within the size limit shown on the upload form. Files must be accessed from the authenticated app. Record a renewal with updated dates and evidence; a new upload is optional if the existing document supports the renewal.

Changes and review decisions are recorded in the audit trail. Revocation takes away the recorded approval and requires a reason.

Request human reconsideration

A signed-in buyer can open their store’s documents portal, choose a credential, and request human review with a reason. To request manual processing instead of relying only on an automated eligibility result, say so in the request reason. The store owner can also open a request from the credential record. The Human review queue lists open requests. The owner reviews the supporting source and recorded decision, responds with a written explanation, and records any necessary decision or correction separately. Check the portal for the response; no email notification is sent.

A request or response does not change the credential decision or purchase eligibility. Any approval, rejection, or revocation is a separate recorded review. Requests and responses remain available if the subscription is inactive or cannot be verified; document changes and approval still require active billing. An open request pauses scheduled retention for the related credential until it is answered. Privacy erasure still applies.

Open the buyer portal

  1. Match the buyer. In Buyers & credentials, choose the correct Shopify customer before inviting them to submit evidence.
  2. Share the portal on your own storefront. The default path is /apps/viera-credentials; use your configured app-proxy path if you changed it.
  3. The buyer must sign in to their customer account for that store. A storefront password or a Shopify admin session does not identify the buyer.
  4. If the portal asks the buyer to contact the store, check that their signed-in customer matches the buyer record. Submitted documents remain pending until a reviewer records a decision.

Save a document to your device

  1. Find the file. Open Documents in the authenticated app and find the required file. The same file may support an original credential and its renewal; check the associated records.
  2. Prepare the file. Select Download document and wait for the ready message.
  3. Save the file. Select Save document and complete your browser's save prompt, if shown. Confirm the saved file opens before treating the download as complete.

If preparation fails, read the displayed message. Reopen the app from Shopify if your session has expired; do not upload another copy to fix a download problem.

Check your subscription

Open Settings & billing to see the verified subscription, billing interval, and Shopify-reported amount. Monthly and annual All Access include the same features. If verification is temporarily unavailable, reopen the app or contact support; do not purchase again just to retry verification.

Purchase eligibility and checkout activation are separate. Review the checkout coverage status on Overview before relying on restrictions.

Consent and privacy requests

Where processing relies on customer consent, customers can ask the store to withdraw consent or restrict that processing. Verify the customer and scope, determine what processing must stop and any lawful retention, then use the existing correction or Shopify privacy-request/erasure workflow as applicable. Contact support for app-side coordination. Do not treat installation or document upload as blanket consent.

Support

If an action fails, note the time, the page, and the error message. Do not include credentials, access tokens, or sensitive document contents in a support request.

Email suport@vievot.com for app support or privacy requests.
